Trent Thornley will be our guest speaker. Paul Paiva, group leader, will interview Trent and be facilitator of a candid discussion about sexuality using the Enneagram as a tool for journeying in this complex area.
Description
Only a portion of people are committed to growing to their fullest human potential. Some of these will attempt to fully embrace their sexuality and attempt to grow in self-understanding through their intimate and sexual relationships.
In every type-pairing, there are natural blessings and natural challenges. The Enneagram can be a Personal Growth Tool in this endeavor, even in the area of human sexuality.
BIO of guest speaker Trent Thornley
Trent is an Enneagram educator and workshop facilitator. He has spoken at the IEA Global Conference. Using the Enneagram he coaches individuals, relationships & groups, and trains chaplains and ministers in Clinical Pastoral Education.
Trent is an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco. Trent is an ordained Buddhist Dharma Leader at Dharmata Sangha, in the lineage of Anam Thubten, as well as ordained clergy in the Metropolitan Community Churches, a progressive Christian denomination celebrating queer spirituality.
Trent holds a B.A. degree in religious studies and a J.D. degree from Indiana University, a Certificate in Buddhist Chaplaincy from the Institute of Buddhist Studies, and a M.A. degree in Buddhist Studies from the Graduate Theological Union. Prior to his work in ministry, Trent was a practicing attorney for 20 years, most recently in the areas of trust administration and probate. https://livingenneagram.com/
BIO of group leader and meeting facilitator Paul Paiva
Rev. Paul Paiva, M.Div., M.A., is a former Roman Catholic priest who performs romantic and entertaining wedding ceremonies. He is a devout Christian who is sex-positive, LGBTQIA-embracing, poly-friendly, and kink-friendly.
He does pre-marital prep for engaged couples, and is a certified intimacy and sexuality coach who teaches the Erotic Blueprints™ to singles who want to prepare for their next partner, and for couples who want to ignite their passion, including those affected by religion-induced shame. He teaches the Enneagram as a tool for personal growth to couples, individuals, and groups.
Paul actively blogs, writes, and speaks on Post-Denominational Sex-Positive Christianity, women's reproductive and sexual autonomy, celibacy, sexuality, the Catholic Church, and his views that Jesus embraces all and accepts all enthusiastically consensual sexual activities.
